WOW, what a weekend! The August NASCAR race was in town and brought over 250,000 folks to the area. Our race rental business, Finishline Rentals , was really hopping! At my house, I had over 30 race fans that crashed in beds, air mattresses, RV's, and camping sites around the 4-acre yard. It was a GREAT crowd, one of the bests. From Vermont to Charleston, Iowa to New York - the great fans seemed to have a blast! We had Paul from Charleston come in and bring his DJ setup. We played music and sang till 4:00 a.m. (some stayed up longer).

We ate 13 pounds of BBQ ribs and pork and three huge pans of Texas beans that my buddy Dave prepared. Yummmm.... The crowds were greater than this year (in my opinion). The heat was the hottest since 1956 - so you can imaging the fluid consumption needs of the race guests to the area.

Thanks to all the guests and friends who came and helped out. It was a lot of work, but it was a super weekend. I hope you had a good time too. Thanks to Paul for the music, Dave for the ribs/beans, and smokers, Greg and Debbie and her crew for all the extra food they left in the fridge (you too Pete and June from D.C.). We'll be eating for weeks!
